I think that would be a great idea! A lot of problems that can up usally have a very simple solution.
I spoke to Kevin Today,
SO far EVERY unit they has shown some depth at the surface has had either foreign matter or salt crystals partially blocking the sensor.. Most have been OK after just removing the bezels, and cleaning..
Units should be immediately rinsed with fresh water before crystals can form.. Once formed they do not dissolve that easily.. especially since there is VERY little watter exchange (without removing bezels)..
As to mis alignment, that probably isnt an issue just that the holes are so small and if particles get in there they cant get out easily... (Kevin says he may have the holes at the pressure tranducr enlarged, I think its easier to just do it on the bezel, so it can be cleaned easier)
As to the deep depth readings, Its an indication that there is some moisture that has made it past the pressure transducer and shorted the sensor.. This has to be sent back to JM.. The indication that removing the sensor harness didn't change the value, is exactly what happens.. For the last 2 or 3 months he now conformally coats the pressure transducer..
