Hi all,
I'm a 45yo male from Sydney, Australia.
I bought my SCR Dolphin about 4 years ago and after diving it a few times I realised the limitations of SCR and pledged to convert it to electronic CCR. I designed a single sensor readout as a backup for the main electronics which were to use 3 sensors for PPO2 control and the unit will also monitor deco requirements, oxygen exposure, etc.
I installed the single sensor readout into the Dolphin whilst I worked on the main electronics, I expected this project to take about 3 months to finish, but as time wore on I realised that my timeframe was wayyyyy out.
I then decided to change the plumbing on the dolphin to CCR and attempt to dive the unit manually. My first dive with the new configuration was very tentative but it showed me that the idea was sound, and also how wonderfull diving CCR is compared to SCR. 200 dives later and the main electronics are still not finished (getting close though), however I quite enjoy flying the unit manually.
Love the forums, you guys are a wealth of info.
