Standardisation in the diving industry

Hi!

I am wondering what level of support the idea of the diving industry standardising on either metric OR imperial would have. Having grown up in a metric country (East Germany), I find the variety of threads, nuts, spanners etc. rather confusing. My toolbox needs to include way too many tools! So my question is whether you guys would like to see a standardisation, and if so, on which standard. I personally prefer metric - that's what I grew up with, and it also makes all sorts of calculations easier. But in the end, any sort of standardisation is a good one.
