Hi John
I took my classic to the Red Sea in Jan & got reamed £56 on the way out by the ever so friendly (not) check in staff at Luton...that was on Thompson Fly (the Egyptians didn't give a toss on the way back so I was lucky there). We are off to Tenerife on 4th April with Monarch & I'm taking the KISS to get the hours up. I went through the website with a fine tooth comb as we are going scheduled & found something about pre booking sports equipment in the baggage section (scuba WAS mentioned)at £15 per sector (so £30 there & back). Rang up & was told "no problem" but phoned to book a week later & was told ...oh you can't do that anymore...so I said well it's on your website...did not compute.. so I tried the ..let me speak to your Manager approach..3 heated calls later & quite a lot of hassle from disinterested airline staff I was told they had changed their policy but not updated the website & the only way to do it was pay at the desk at £'s per kilo, I was lucky & they agreed to the flat £30 for unlimited equipment as long as it's within the 30 odd kilo per bag allowance. Even though I paid on my credit card & got them to e mail me confirmation I'm still expecting hassle at the airport....pity I'm not taking a canoe or hand glider as they have a set fee for those

I can't see an easy way to drop the weight of the unit much more & I have it in a light case...If I had the cash I'd get a sport for travel!
regards
Mike
