Re: How to handle both DSMB and loop volume while bailing out ?

Of course, I did empty the wing, (switching to CCR diving dont make you forget your basic diving skill, no ? ) and suit dump was full open. But, even with wing empty, the volume of the loop maitained by the OPV make me positive, so I need to empty the loop manually in all case.
I wasnt trying to be funny or a smart ass I was trying to help.

I was making the point that you try to as much as possible only have only one main source of lift to worry about. If you completely empty your wing at depth you can come up quite a way by controlling just the CL volume only.

This can be done naturally letting the opv do its job and fine tuning with the wing, or, if the CL volume is too big (too bouyant even when wing is empty) you can suck n blow, or you can try crossing one arm (the one holding the reel) over one or if possible both CLs and keep it tight to your chest to minimise CL volume/lift and let OPV work whilst fine tuning with wing as before.

If all else fails just take it in stages alternating wing emptying, suit dumping and loop suck n blowing in turns....works for me.

I bailed from 80m once and everytimne I went back to the loop as I ascended to suck and blow I couldnt work out why I couldnt empty the lungs...took me a while to realise I hadnt shut off the ADV
