Which technique? I bet it was closing the DSV and doing the OC thing. IMO too much task loading especially when going deep.
Just so that I am on thread...the MEG can seem to withstand the brutality of some OC gorillas. Apart from the cable being deliberately pierced everything else is pretty darn tough. It would be cool if someone designed a shroud, not that it needs one. The MEG handset is definitely tougher than the PO2 displays of the KISS.
