Re: Pick Two!

I'm just at the beginning of this but am fresh with ideas from spending four months pouring over my decision on which two to buy (one for my wife and one for me that is). i've had multiple pool try outs on four units, the inspo, sport kiss, kiss classic and the optima. I've had many discussions and show and tell with a friend and his meg. I finally went with the evolution. I grappled with the modularity benefits of the meg, it's bullet proof construction vs the alluring vision electronics of the evolution. I really wanted integrated deco electronics, really like the temp stick and realized that cost wise, if starting from scratch, it's pretty much a wash between the two. I don't forsee needing a huge capacity for any one dive. After seeing the travel frame, I realized that if I really want modularity I can mix and match canister and tanks between the evolution and inspiration on the travel frame down the line to get more extended range. So, maybe you should consider going with two evo's, or a used inspo and a new evolution, and a travel frame. i'm not a hundred percent sure that the heads are interchangable between pre and post vision e's and am assuming that the valves on the 19cf inspo tanks are compatable so definitely double check that if this perks your interest. Otherwise, if not, Maybe you could purchase a new evo and buy the inspiration's scrubber and 19cf tanks, that way you'd have lots of flexibility, unless you actually need to have two with you on one dive. Oh, and as far as i can tell from reading around here, if you go with the evo/vision e's definitely get the nitrox/trimix version to avoid the bugs.
You might also read up on the hammer meg if you want deco e's on the meg right now but i've heard that warrenties might be an issue, so double check that. rumor has it integrated deco is in the works.
I should probably keep my mouth shut till i actually have first hand experience, but thought my two cents might be worthy food for though.
