What's a selective control valve? Do you have a link to one?
Maybe an adjustable needle valve rather than a fixed orifice? 
Like the one used by OMG on the Azimuth or Tubby on his CCR Dolphin.
Depending on the implementation they allow you to either adjust the gas
flow infinite/small steps (for use with mixes between min/max O2) or
during the dive.
