Re: Kirby Morgan m48 mask with NATO pod

Jonny, the rebreather pod comes in two version, either with a DSV or with a BOV that has a Kirby-Morgan 2nd stage. If it is the 2nd stage that is restricted are you sure you'll get that version, not the DSV version.

The main difference between the OC and Rebreather pod are ratchets above the bellows that allow the pod to be in a fixed position. Either close with the diver using the bite piece or pulled out for use with comms. They also eliminate the wobble (only used the OC pod, underwater it was negligible, on the surface it was there ... may be more pronounced with the addition of corrugated hoses, Mike will know).

In the picture you can see the stock Rebreather pod, the connectors have dual O-rings.
Usually you'll need adapters to fit them to connectors of the Rebreather.
Are those available, too, and for what rebreathers?
Mike, IIRC uses his YBOD connectors on the MK15.5
Below a pic with PRISM connectors.

Last but not least, a picture of me goofing around with the OC version.
You can see the lack of the dual stabilizer/ratchet bars on top.
Hey Stefan, what i was offered was two different sollutions.
1. To get the m48 mask with the standard OC scubapod (last picture) and on that one remove the regulator and attach the DSV of the Meg. Which i was told will fit, though the hoses have a tendency to twist.
2. To purchase the m48 mask with the NATO pod like the two first pictures you sent. If you look at the first picture you will see that there is a OC regulator, that is the regulator i was talking about, that is restricted. It is made for the military. I dont know the specs but i can imagine it is made some non magnetic material. So what you would get is the pod without that regulator and you can attach some other regulator to it. I will attach my ATX200 which will fit. I was also told that scubapro and poseidons will fit. Also the connector Stefan was talking about, yet you will be able to get them too, i have the price for those of you that have pm'd me, and its about 80USD extra charge over the mask and or pod.

You are able to buy
only mask
only NATO pod
only scuba pod
only connectors
Or any combination above, i will buy a mask with scubapod, and get the NATO pod on top of that, i will connect the spare scubapod then to my offboard regulator, so that if i need to bailout, i will disconnect the nato pod, put in offboard regulator and then connect it to the fullface mask. I will have the OC/CC DSV (BOV) regulator connected to my onboard, just to be able to get fast sanity breaths, in case of very deep dives, i can have it on any offboard gas if i want as well. I am also looking into have a switch block as well, with some kind of wet contacts, so i can which gases during the dive...

Also for those of you who have asked me if this is a one time deal, no it is not, i am in contact with a reseller.

kind regards
Jonny
