As far as lid durability goes, you're going to hit a lot of stuff before you get to the can lid. Acetal is tough stuff, I'm not too worried about it getting damaged.

As discussed, I don't have the in-water time to have a firmly held opinion, but it would seem that those steel 20's would provide enough protection to make a shroud unnecessary. After watching Andrew in the pool with a meg and 2 inspirations, the meg is definitely a lower profile.

While we're on that note I have a short clip of Andy threading his way through the Jodrey diving his MegCisInspidon hybrid. He's definitely a finesse artist. Having scootered through some tight spaces I have a few scratches here and there on CCR/ OC. Nothing major, but I always think about entanglement and abrasion effects. the clip is 28 seconds on Quicktime MPEG 4. Offer is good till whenever since the seas are now 8' - double grumble. Ken
