Re: OT: rebreather mask for emergencies

Biopak's come up for sale every now and again on ebay. The model number refers to the endurance e.g. BP45 is a 45min unit, BP240 (rarer to see) is 4hrs. Some come with a gas cooling system for hot environments and have a full face mask as standard.

Do you have a genuine reason to be worried about needing one? Most rebreathers need a certain amount of preparation/maintenance. If you work in a high risk environment then I'd presume that adequate breathing equipment and training was being provided by your employer.
