That is kinda purpose of this thread. A manufacturer that forfeits their warranty on a new product that been never used and is fresh from factory just because original buyer decided to sell it forward is not the company I will give my money, thats for sure. (o2tima thread).

How do you know what the first owner did or change on the unit? How do you know it if the factory never did a service or see the unit first?
There are limits how much someone word will give him. 10 000 US$ is not something I would take lightly on word alone. I would personally ask the history of unit, what changes if any have been made with it, any problems and which parts have been replaced and then, when was the last factory maintenance done (or authorized service) and receipt from that.

If there is long time since last one, I would propably send it to factory or authorized service just to make SURE it is in good order and would factor that to the cost of unit to see if it still makes a good deal or not. I often tend to come to conclusion, that buying new one is better deal after all this (which I often find myself doing instead buying used).

You can be sure I am pretty meticulous when its 10 000 US$ of my hard earned money on the line, not to mention my life.

I'm sure every serious manufacturer (e.s. Ouroboros, Meg, APD, KISS) will give warranty for longer periods but how can you trust the user?
See above. I dont But if there is a problem that belongs to warranty envelope, I sure wouldnt take an "sorry but you are not original owner" kinda reply from the company. Thats why I want to see which companies would pull this card so I can avoid them.

Sorry mate but if you need such an assurance for what you're ready to do maybe it is better to think a bit over it!
