Ouroboros - An entry level rebreather? Yes, I don't see why not.

Hi Ant,

I just found your post.

I did exactly what you ask. The course was a challenge but then I guess anyones first time course on a CCR is. I find every time I dive it a challenge, but then I have 18 years OC experience and only 2 months CCR experience. What came instinctively to me on OC is no longer there, or doesn't apply any more. I really do feel like it's a brand new start as a novice.

Most of the problems I've had were nothing to do with the unit but with my relative inexperience. The only thing I think that would have made the transition easier for me was that prior to my course I had never used a VR3. If you have one or can use one, I think you have part of the battle won. That's not to say it can't be done, I suppose I am testament to that, but it would have made things easier.

I would recommend the unit and Phil Short as an Instructor (though your choice is limited to him plus two others, one as I'm sure you know being the designer).

If you want to PM me for any more information please do, but if you do, be patient waiting for a reply as I don't check in as often as I used to. Most of what I had to say was covered in the report I did on YD, a link to which appears elsewhere in this thread.

Regards
