IMNSHO, Solo certifications are ridiculous. Most places won't accept them and the skills they teach are things that any diver (whether Rebreather or OC) should be aware of already (that's not to say that all are). If anything, self rescue should be standard in all scuba courses and, to some extent, are but the coursework should be beefed up in Basic Open Water and reinforced throughout every other class.
