I'm a computer geek by day, so I distrust computers totally, which I thought meant semi-closed only, but the KISS Classic looks awfully good!
It looks like this site is going to be a great resource!
Hi Erik, a ccr is a great diving tool, but beware you will still need to pack at least one "stage" aka bailout bottle. the deeper you go and the more deco you incur the more bailout gases you will need.
but that being said it is still a heck of a lot less gear and less heavy gear anyway.
you have lots of resources for all kinds of units. the board here is great for information and also you can contact me about kiss info or alan studly (he is in CA) and a great guy too.
My favorite unit is the KISS due to its simplicity / reliability and the ability for the user (owner) to completely field repair the unit (assuming you have back up parts of course). the inspiration and meg are other great units too. it just depends on what you are looking to do. but don't shy away from the kiss if you are a deep trimix diver. the unit operates extremely well in these conditions too. there seems to be some mis-information out there about the kiss and deep trimix (of course not violating the manufacture recommended max depths

)
