The course is IANTD Mod 1, specific to the Ouroboros. It's no more excellent or un-excellent than any other IANTD Mod 1 course. Phil and Kev, one of whom designed the unit and the other who was no.1 test diver know more about diving it than anyone else. So what you are are saying is "I had an excellent course taught by Kev/Phil. (or in you're case, Ian, Kev And Phil And Al...). All are very thorough instructors and the Ouroboros course taught by them will be as thorough as any of the other courses they run. As always, the quality of the course depends on the instructor, not the agency or the material.

And I still think it's not ideal as your first Rebreather......Although I rate the unit very highly, I've had u/w "bugs" that were easily fixable but may have caused problems for less experienced divers.

And do you really know what everything on the vr3 does?
