| Submatix CCR Yesterday (November 21, 2005) I had a very enjoyable dive at Alki Beach in Seattle Washington diving the Submatix rebreather configured with CCR adaption. I was diving the unit without the wing, only using the harness which was quite comfortable. The dive was to 90 fsw where there is a large set of I beams, I believe from a T.V. or radio tower that is covered with white anemone. I was quite impressed with the ease of breathing in all positions, and only found it slightly sensitive to ADV when I rolled on my back. The unit fits very comfortably on my back, and I was able to utilize the integrated weight pockets for ballast needs. The trim and feel in the water was also good. Question for divers who actively dive the Submatix: are you wearing the stock wing or supplying your own wing? The stock bladder looks a bit intimidating or bulky…any comments. |
