Re: Evo anyone in SE UK ?

Hi Colnicky,

I did the Mod 1 with UKSteve and my mate, we both had the Evos (with V30 Trimix software, no problems so far,,) and thoroughly enjoyed the force 8 gales and 25cm viz that we had on that particular week!

All in all, the unit performed well and did all the right things when we wanted it to, apart from my mates handset freezing on one occasion, but that's a story for another day.

I'm using about 10Kg of lead in a compressed neoprene dry suit and my mate's using 6Kg in a membrane.

Yes, we did a lot of drills and flushes at 20 meters and must have dil flushed the bugger down for 5 minutes at one stage, bailed out at 20M OC and got to 6 M, back on the loop and still had 100 bar on the 2L dil from 180 bar starting pressure.

In my own personal opinion, If I was diving deeper that 30 M on it, I certainly wouldn't be relying on the 2L Dil cylinder to get me out of trouble, but having said that, I recently completed a 40 meter dive with no bail out at all, but that was my decision. Normally I have a side slung 3 liter on.

Anyway, I think that we all love our own units in our own particular way (oh err!) and lets face it, after spending all that wonga, you certainly don't want to feel that you have made the wrong decision!

Looking forward to next year and the Mod 2/3 (plus some decent diving on it, of course.)
