Question Compressor intake filter

Having recently moved my compressor into its own shed I'm going to put in fixed piping to bring intake air from a long way from the engine exhaust. Previously I've just had a few metres of large-bore flexible hose and stuck a bacterial filter from an anaesthetic breathing circuit on the end to take out any dust, wasps, etc. The filter grade was obviously overkill and I'm looking for something more robust to put on my distant air intake with the new setup.

So - what has anyone else used to filter out dust and debris from their compressor air intake?

Thanks,
Neil
