Re: "Diver" By Tony Groom

A friend loaned me this book a week ago and I was unable to put it down. It is a hilarious and, at times, poignant look at the author's career as a diver, first as a Royal Navy Clearance Diver, and then as a commercial oil field diver. The author's lack of pretension and self effacing humor, as well as the subject matter, make for an entertaining and informative read.

I particularly liked reading about the author's experiences in the Falklands. I was only a kid when the Falkland's Conflict occured, and know very little about it- but reading this book has inspired me to learn more!

After reading the book, I have to say that Tony Groom sounds like a great guy, and one I'd love to buy a pint for. Thanks, Tony!!
