Re: OC bail out question

I agree with JP on asking your instructor and hope that they suggest carrying it clipped to your harness in the front, sling or stage style. Couple reasons, one, you can get to the valve, gauge and 2nd stage and know what you are handling (not confusing it with your onboard gas supply),two, you can hand off the entire system to another diver who may need it, swapping with one they have used part of, so each diver would still have some gas left if they had a failure also. Me personally i have been known to remove my Rebreather and sneak into a hole in a wreck with just my stage bottle, hard to do with it mounted to your RB.
