If I remember correctly, it's not illegal to ship Lithium batteries, but they are a Hazmat item, so there are controlls and protocols.

All sorts of HazMat gets shipped and transported around the world, not sure why this would be any different.

My experience shipping large Li-Ion batteries is that it is not illegal, but it is more expensive and difficult.

Our X scooter battery is 30 ah at 28 volts, so it easily exceeds the allowable minimum for passenger aircraft.

Domestically we use a Haz Mat carrier, and Internationally we use freight forwarders that handle Haz Mat.
