Re: Buttplates!

One of the benefits of the Armadillo is that is quite stable as the material is quite stiff. I have found this means little movement in the side mounted bailout cylinders which works well, especially when the crotch strap is threaded through the Armadillo. A friend of mine who has tried many different variations for side mounting both open circuit and closed tried the deep sea supply double d ring solution and didn't find it comfortable due to the movement. This is not a slight on Deep Sea Supply as they make excellent quality products, it was just not the right solution for him, YMMV.

I helped a friend last week adapt an Armadillo for his Inspiration. We used the drainage holes on the case where it sits closest to his body and added eyelets to the Armadillo that lined up with these holes. We then added a stainless bar to the inside of the case to add support and then threaded the bolts through holes drilled in the bar, through the case and into the Armadillo.

Cheers,

Ben.
