Personally, my opinion is it's not about speed it's about getting it right.

Before a diving weekend/trip, I'll assemble the unit which may take up to 45mins or so (checking removing and regreasing o rings if necessary). I take my time and follow the checklist. I can do it a lot quicker, but I give myself lots of time to do it properly.

When I get on the boat, I positive, negative, check cells/electronics, check wing inflate, adv, o2 button etc. Then a pre-breathe before the dive - that's it.
