The only problem is that you are underselling the bucket rebreather.
Even the Mk 1 will sustain you for a minute or so not seconds.
'Everybody' knows you can hold your breath for 'seconds' and not die so rewrite those bits with 'minutes' for increased credibility.
Hey you didn't mention that I have to add lead to my bucket to make it sink with me...
