I understand the spare parts thing.. the good thing about the poseidons is alot of times all they need is a cleanup, and swapping the o-rings for good measure... The parts that you have to get from poseion usually don't need changing that often... with the xtreme 1st stages, even a monkey can service them...
The one thing that I have seen on many different regs, is that the students forget to purge some gas from the regs after ascending from significant depth.. they forget that the ip is originally increased relative to ambient, and if the forget to purge some gas, the OPV or the reg can let go.. On the posedons its the OPV and the only way for sure to stop it is to shut the valve off (if it was on) then repressureize it..... The apeks regs are greater offenders here due to the increase of the ip by about .1bar over ambient per bar.. I have had OPVs go on apeks regs at depth just because of this alone... This was another reason switching away from apeks regs for deep dives (I wount give up OPVs, since I have seen what a ruptured hose can do)..
