Right, where do i start!? I´m taking my first into tech diving (dsat tec deep) and the question is, do i buy twin tanks, wings and all the rest. or do i just buy a re breather now. the devil in me says buy a re breather immediately. but before i make any rash decisions i thought it would make sense to ask people with a bit more experience. and if yes which one!! i would appreciate any advice on this topic. cheers Ian.

PS. forgot to write this at the beginning. i´m Ian and live in Germany. nice to meet you all. that is if anyone writes back!!
Hi Ian,

Generally, if you are serious about making the leap into technical diving, it makes little sense to make any large investments into open-circuit equipment, so I'd say go the route of a rebreather.

Selecting a rebreather can be a tough decision. If you can demo a few, that is usually a good way to get better acquainted with the different models and the difference between each one. There are several different types and you will get varying opininons about why each one is best.

I suggest you do lots of reading on this site, as you will find an endless stream of information that will help you with your decision. Also, try and find rebreather divers in your area and talk to them and have them show you their rebreathers and explain to you why they like theirs.

Other then that, post any specific quesions you may have here online and I assure you that someone will help you out.

Best of luck to you!
