I know it's been done with the PRISM's cowling, but most people seem to prefer a metal frame for their AP unit instead of cutting up the ybox. Gives solid protection, allows various sizes of tanks, use of a backplate or soft harness, choice of wing, has less inherent buoyancy, and, depending on the version, is easier to travel with.
You'd need to make some more mods to clear the dil manifold, as it sits slightly on top of the dil cylinder. I suspect you'd end up with a very wobbly box.

Having switched from an Inspo to the Evo, I've thought this one over for a while. I have access to 7l of dil on all dives, in addition to the onboard 2l and have an extra 2l of O2 in the narked@90 frame, so I'm pretty happy that I have enough gas for the diving I am doing.

I guess the only remaining issue is getting hold of 2l cylinders when travelling. I don't do that much, so don't think it'll be a big issue. My wife took it to the Red Sea and Tekstreme had plenty of cylinders.

Cheers,
