Simple is best. I like the pathfinder style reel, my wallet likes the Salvo version :-)

Only time I dont want pathfinder style reel is in cold water where I find the knob and screw are just too small to use with thick gloves and frozen hands

We feel the same way about Manta stuff here. If you're happy with it... good for you. But once you use quality kit... well, the junk all gets tossed into the bin. Manta = Baseline Consumer Grade. Functional, but... well.... not top drawer.

Salvo and Kent Tooling: Both great, each for different reasons.

Mike, try some of the Kent stuff with your gloves on. You'll be a convert.
