Hi Kev,

I used regular 1.5v batteries for a long time and it works fine for single days of diving, change them whenever you change the extendair.
Lately, I have been using SAFT batteries just because I have been diving about 8 hours/week and 3.6v batteries are just more practical. If I have a less busy schedule I will go back to the 1.5v.
