Hi all

My name is Matt and currently on oc. Ive been a long time watcher of RW and enjoy alot of the reports and home builds and for that I thank you.

So this is my first post and its all about the vr3.....

Ive been reading colinj's post "Continuous VR3 Issue " when Lancer4545 said about a cap for the fischer connector from narked@90 which i have now ordered after breaking the plastic one that came with it.

I have a couple of mates who have damaged the battery cap and had to replace them. this is down to the cheap plastic cap and tool so i emailed narked@90 about a ally battery cap and they have produce a couple for themselves and if there is enought intrest they might market them. I currently have 3 people intrested I was wandering if anyone on hear would be as well.

hello mathew, sorry i think i got the wrong end of the stick when you contacted me the other day, i had it in my head you were talking about the plastice cap on the inspiration battery box.
there will be a number of issues that i can see with changing the battery cover on the vr3.
the one they use now is a plastic outer with a nickel brass insert, making it out of ali would mean it would have to be coated which may mean it having a bad contact, if we made it out of say stainless steel this would then have a dielectric affect on the surrounding ali vr3 causing it to corrode,
so there solution is about what is cheap and and will not damage the vr3.
sorry
kind regards john routley
