Re: Inspiration and Evo 3 cell backup system.

Hi,

I think that it's a very nice solution for those who would like to have 2 handsets in their units (I know I do). Although I cannot really see a true redundancy in this since the handset is connected to the same Oxygen cells in the unit. I currently have my VR3 connected to a 4th cell in my unit which I think it offers also a good solution. If the size of the handset is as small as the VR3's then it would be more attractive as personally I try to avoid extra bulky instruments, and to have true redundancy then you would need to 3 extra cells to connect the handset to in case if 1 or more primary cells failed.

Best Regards. Wael

Hi Wael,

There are a number of configurations you can choose because you get a 4th cell holder in the kit. Our first customer has his vision on cells 1,2 & 3 and the Pursuit on 2, 3 & 4. If you only connect the pursuit to the 4th cell and make that connection to cell 2 input on your Pursuit, it will blank cells 1 & 3 on the screen and display only the single cell input like a VR3 does.
If you put extra cell in, you need to maintain and replace them. We like to give you the choice of how you implement your redundant system because everyone is different. And we appreciate that there is no right or wrong way to provide redundancy, so if the customer wants it his way because he is comfortable with it, then we will strive to supply it.
Cramer is right, the Vision has two controller built in, but one display. If the display is lost then you lose deco but the setpoint controllers continue to operate (if there are no other failures), our system gives you that critical backup. Remeber the HUD for the vision is not independant, it is run from the setpoint controllers. If the SPC's fail then you lose that aswell.
