Hi,

It's really unfortunate to see you letting your VR3 go. I know it's a frustrating issue to have so many problems with it so far but some units had battery and consumption problems. Nevertheless, if I were in your shoes I would insist on using the 3.6v Lithium batteries instead of 1.5v as they do indeed last much longer and seems to cause less problems according to my personal research.
