I´d second that approach. Resetting the "Current Rebreathers" field in all profiles on a regular (e.g. yearly) base would enhance data quality enormously. I believe admins are already working to expand the list of rebreather types though it seems to cause technical problems.
Is an admin reading this or should we move that proposal to the site help forum?
