| Re: Any news? The Work of Breathing curves and data for the sport O.R. unit curves have been published on the "ISC Posts Test Data" thread, as part of the explanation of how WOB works.
The commercial version has the injector acting as a venturi accelerator out of the exhale counterlung to reduce the WOB further (an advantage from using variable orifice injectors, the O2 flow is continuous). A couple of years ago we looked at putting a turbine on it, but it required too many stages, as well as the noise issue.
We don't use this in the single scrubber version, because there is no point: the WOB is already well within the limits of the standard even measuring WOB inclusive of the diver's own WOB, down to all depths the unit should be used (55msw on air).
To allow more direct comparison, we many publish these also using the NEDU test method (which is the Device under test only), and we plan to publish the full WOB verses loop volume curves, along with benchmarks from other popular rebreathers.
