Here's my feeback on the site redux:
It definitely feels nicer. More solid. Better look and performance.
On the minus side:
1) the horizontal separation of the avatar, etc from
the post count, etc is, well, bad. I can't ascertain with
a single look the site credentials of the person whose
post I'm reading.
2) the white space created by the separation in 1)
will forever be trapped, and thus an irritant.
3) unless the intention is to allow massive, banner-ad-sized
avatars, in which case I will reserve the right to turn my images off.
4) And this is only in 4th place because something has to be ...
there seems to be no way on the main nav toolbar to get the
posts from the last 24/48 hours. Since posts expire on the "New Posts"
link (even when I haven't read them: it seems the criterion is
"has he seen the subject line before? yes, well it's not new" ),
I use the 24/48 hour searches almost exclusively.
5) a question really: why are some blobs shaded, and not others?
But, the look and feel of the site is a welcome improvement.
Kudos to you Stuart and others for the effort. Take my points
above not as gripes, but sincere feedback.
Thanks!

This is John here - not Stu... and am trying to help Stu by keeping an eye on the BUG reports here since I plead guilty to being the so called '
' (phah) that assisted on his excellent upgrade.
#1 - Stu uses what is called the horizontal postbit layout. vB provides an option to choose either - but at a global level (i.e. for all users). The new design Stu has implemented doesn not come with the horizontal postbit layout - however, it is available and can install if asked. There is also a code hack available for vB 3.0.9 (Stus old version) that allows users to choose which layout they would like to use but I have not yet seen this for the lates software release vB3.5.
#4 - If requested, I can add options to the drop down search bar that will alloow you to select only posts from the last 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 etc days...
Hope this helps.
