The manufacturing is done in India. Given that fact you must take everything they say with a grain of salt. ISO cert is meaningless. Given that your live in China now I suspect you know what kind of business practices are used in India and I am not telling you anything new.
I would not be concerned about them using a GMail address as that quite normal for many manufacturing companies in Asia and India.
