I do vaguely remember some guy with a SC rebreather who had a fatal accident in a pool. IIRC he was found sitting at the bottom with his tank depleted ... .

While this was a SC unit the "leaky valve" technology is quite similar, and had he watched either his pO2 (don't remember if he had a pO2 monitor installed or not) or his contents gauge he may well still be alive. A warning system could have alerted him to do just that.

But it does to quite some extend go back to the manual vs electronic discussion and the need to know your pO2 and not be(come) complacent.

Stuart and Dave have it right IMHO, no matter what or how many systems you have available, you need to monitor and stay on top of them.

Doesn't really matter if that's a simple, little Sport Kiss or Dolphin, a mighty Ouroboros or an ingenious Cis-Lunar.
