I'd think a wrap or two of electrical tape would hold them in place....
My concern is will they fit? The battery holders I've been looking at really add on quite a bit of 'junk' that might make it too large for the battery compartment...

Personally, I made up one 3x9V pigtail and one of the spot welders... next thing you know I had 10 alkaline and lithium battery packs ready in a few hours of idle time... and believe you me... I'm an IT geek, I have zero real world mechanical skills.
