Mark was a good guy. I'm deeply saddened to hear this.

I spoke to the person who found him. I agree totally with the posting re leaking information, and so would that individual. Please let's wait until the parties close to this have had time to analyze the evidence carefully before we start jumping to conclusions. In particular, I for one will be pretty pissed if anyone starts talking about diver error with no evidence to back that up. Mark was a very bright guy, and in my conversations with him I always found him to be a very serious, analytic diver. And even if it was error, guesing at what type of error is uncalled for at this stage.

Even if NO report ever comes out, pointless speculation is no more constructive than silence. While I'm new to rebreathers, I'm not new to tech diving, and every post-death internet "analysis" in threads on userboards I've seen has been risible - and usually disrespectful to the deceased, and to the family of that person. Conjecture is pointless.

Please let's pay his family and friends the respect of waiting until the full evidence is in and has been explored.
