Re: how did you break it??

Well I guess I am not the only brute to my unit. I also dropped my Meg of the tailgate of my truck onto blacktop parking area. It landed on its head but luckily it was on the back quarter and only the edge of the cover got scratched and the tie down clip bent. It worked perfectly the rest of the trip no problem.
I also have had the solenoid stuck partly open due to a piece of crap hung up inside. I took it apart ran it through the utrasonic and reassembled it, good to go. The manual O2 valve (offboard injection since I use the left lung for O2 add.) stuck a couple of times, taking off the nipple and infusing some O2 lube, then blowing in some O2 did the trick.
I off course knew it was going to be a good unit, because on my first day of training with it, I was walking to the river, I slipped on a wet and slimy ramp and landed on my butt towards my back. The dill tank valve took most of the impact and actually broke off the valve. So out of the water I go and lets find a new valve.
The batteries were also a learning experience I must have trashed about 3 or 4 packs by forgetting to turn off the unit. I picked up some molex connectors and learned to solder my own. You may find that 2 C-cells lithium ion 3.6 volts will be quite worth while for your primary.
All in all I made a couple of mods to the original and do not regret this purchase. It has proven to be solid, dependable and easy to maintain. I am a proud owner, and do hug my meg daily.
