Steve,

Hi, and welcome to Rebreather World. This board has very rapidly become THE resource for information and communication by, and for, rebreather pilots of all types and stripes!

That result is directly because of the calibre of our members, who are willing to share hard-won knowledge in a friendly manner!

I see that our members are already making some good points to guide you.

As Curt has suggested, examining the type of diving that you do most, and your aims for the future, will be very instructive. It will help our members, and you, pick the most effective unit to fit the bill.

As Matt, who is a well-known instructor down in the cave systems in Mexico, has suggested, it is an important decision financially, so it literally pays to get it right.

Dive2dive has a good suggestion when he says that it would be good for you to visit the Steam Machines factory in Lebanon, Tennessee. The Readey's (Peter and Sharon) are good people, and a visit there will be a great way to an understanding of rebreathers, and what it is that they all about.

Don't be afraid to ask questions here. We have folks who have been diving and making rebreathers since dirt was new, and un-like some other rather unfortunate diving venues, our members tend to help rather than just slap the newbies around!

Again, welcome aboard!

Rob Davie
