Erm... hello. Lots of familiar names here, many new ones too.
I'm Clare Gledhill, and I run
DIR Diving in association with Stuart who runs Rebreather World.
I would describe myself more as a cave diver than anything else as it is what I devote my training and free time/money towards. I enjoyed cave diving in France and Mexico although my heart is in Florida. I wreck dive too in the Channel mostly with DIR UK although I've done a bit elsewhere as well. I'm a Fundamentals Instructor for GUE in the UK and elsewhere in Europe but try not to teach too many courses as my passion is my own diving - and indeed without it and the experience it brings my instruction would be worthless.
I've just started diving an RB80 (
Course report link here) which is my reason for posting here as I already have one or two questions on how to source a few bits and bobs and it would be good to be able to access the knowlege base on here. I'm enjoying the challenge of learning something new, although to me it is primarily a tool which I have, somewhat reluctantly, to learn to use safely if I am to extend my diving as intended.
Not here to start DIR v Rebreather rucks - unless it involves Mark Chase of course
Clare
