The Sentinal was only recently released yet we see and hear instructors going on training, I've met and heard from several shops and instructors who will be stocking it, we've seen the CE and Scrubber Test results, we've seen and touched the unit at many shows, we've read many internet and magazine reviews and I really do believe we'll see people diving them this summer.
Considering the much larger parent company, investment and risk in the new market the Mk6 is aiming for we've seen nothing in magazines, at shows, I've not met a single instructor who knows any more about it than I can read on here... it all sounds like vapour ware right now.
Anyone else think they started talking about this 1year too early?
I'm very sad about this, as this promised to be a revolution and it has some very interesting developments in it. This could change the units that we dive in the future, so should be given every chance to succeed, so that others will follow.
The shame about the hype and frankly poor delivery to date is that we'll throw the baby out with the bathwater - the unit will fail as a whole and the good parts will go forgotten for years. Poseidon are doing the whole industry a disservice IMHO.
Launching this early before the unit and the infrastructure were in place was either an attempt to jump the gun on the opposition (Sentinel maybe?) or a crass attempt to ramp the share price by showing what they had coming. Either way, it's probably not going to do Poseidon or us any good at all....
Tuesday rant over (I'm going to restrict myself to one a day ;-)
