Re: Manual Injection Valve

Question regarding form/function of this valve....

It appears that this allows manual injection of an inboard gas supply (w/shut-off) or an offboard gas supply (w/QD). In this configuration, the offboard gas supply does not feed any of the system mechanics. For example, on the O2 side, the offboard O2 would not feed a solenoid, orifice, needle valve, etc. Likewise on the dil side, it would not feed a BOV plumbed from a dil manifold, an ADV, etc. Is this a common configuration, that is, offboard gasses only being fed to the rig via a manually controlled injection? Not knocking this at all, just a foreign configuration to me and I'd like to learn more about this rationalization.

regards,
ML
