Some people do it by exhaling through the nose till volume is right. This can make your mask fog up. other people let some gas out the side of there mouth but that also has problems as it can let some water in at the same time. and depending on your configuration could be a problem. I agree ! the best way if you have a sensitive dump valve and front mounted lungs then squeezing the CL is a good way to go.
