Re: APECS 3.0 almost here?

When getting serious about obtaining a Meg, I went back and forth with waiting for APECS 3.0. I also solicited others for their comments and suggestions. I'm glad I didn't wait. I'm down the road now with a good batch of 3 digit dives behind me. At this point in time, I have a better understanding of where I'm headed in regards to rebreather diving and what I want in my diving system. I know that I don't want the deco algorithm being run in the same system controlling and reporting PO2 without it being absolutely fault tolerant. I don't see any systems within a "middle class" price range that have this capability.....yet. So, for now, I love the APECS 2.x for it's simplicity and ruggedness. Deco is handled by a completely separate computer (Liquivision X1). For me, it's the perfect marriage. Going this route makes even more sense for me because it doesn't tie the decompression to just one rebreather during a dive.

APECS 3.0? Not interested.
