Hi,

I agree with you Phil, but unfortunately diving organisations take lots of time to change or modify a course and since instructors are teaching everyday and students are diving everyday then the best thing an instructor can do is to explain to his/her student a bit more on how to stay "Safe" and one way to do that is of course by eliminating any problem factors in advance. BUT, if diving instructors and those who are involved in diving organisations on high profile would make a stand to increase the safety standard within courses then of course it would be the best solution for everyone.
