It's Metric "Kleinkonish" (metric tapered thread), so no burst disc valves fit. But the real issue is that it's not a "valve", it's a valve *and* a manual addition valve as well, in one assembly. There is no way to change it. Plus, the cylinder is not DOT, so if you're worried about the valve, you'll be worried about the cylinder too. Frankly, I'm not worried and have been playing with these for years. Fill your own 02 and forget about it.

I have no concerns about the safety of the valve or cylinder, just the ability to get it filled in the shops when I head out of town. Adding a low-pressure line with manual add button to my deco reg and running the rig from that set was something I was looking at. I just really like the add button it came with.

I'll send a PM about the rest in a day or so (have to talk to my dive buddy about taking his car to RI).
