Re: Dangerous Azimuth scrubber

Hello everybody !
I only just joined because of this thread.

I also posess an Azimuth with the same scrubber problem.
At my scrubber there is no continuous weld. There are only 8 small points welded around it. It can be clearly seen from the outside, but I also checked from the inside using a small 12V-lightbulb soldered directly to small wires. The wires can be seen in one of the pictures. I needed the light, because there was no other way with my digital camera to make a photo of the inside.

I bought the rebreather not yet 3 years ago from another diver from germany. He claimed that it was only 1 year old. Judging from the bottles (1998) and the fact that it also got a MARES-jacket I never believed this.
I think it's older than that. But as it was in excellent condition I really did not care.

I had a look at the rebreather again, but could not find a serial number.
As I have moved 3 times since I bought it, I do not know where to find the documents right now, that I received with the rebreather. Maybe there is more info.

My scrubber is about 26.5 cm long and has got a metal lid with white plastic to push down the sorb, like it could already be seen on another photo.

As I was planning to finally get my Azimuth back into the water this year, I really appreciate this thread. I hope every delivered unit with this fault may be spotted and fixed soon.
